Tonight I'll be heading north for my annual girls weekend and relaxing big time with good food, great company, probably too many bottles of wine and apparently a lot of rain. Can't wait!
Before I head out though, I thought I'd share a bit about last weekend, which was all about family thanks to our three Thanksgiving dinners!
Over the course of the weekend we got to see my Papa on his 74th Birthday, both our parents, three babies, three dogs and about forty other grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins... Exhausting, yes, but also lots of fun as usual.
Fortunately the only dish I had to prepare throughout this familial marathon (assuming wine and dinner rolls don't count) was a salad... and I don't mind tooting my own horn when I say that I definitely delivered!
I decided to try this fantastic recipe (found via Style at Home's Beautiful Bites email suggestions) that seemed like the perfect fall salad to add to a heavy turkey dinner...
One of the highlights of the weekend festivities was a surprise pumpkin carving challenge put on by Marc's mother Bonnie. On a beautiful sunny weekend like that one, it was the perfect pre-dinner activity for the kids... and a few of us big kids, too!
Alright, now I've just got to get through the busy work day ahead and then I'm outta here...
Have a great weekend!

P.S. Since I'm vacating the city I'll be missing a good friend's wedding this evening... Congratulations Wendi & Kim! And best wishes for a very special wedding day!!! XOXO
